Priority Energy was founded in Chicago, where we have been operating for over fifteen years. As a real estate development and management company we realized Chicago building codes are not set up to encourage energy efficient building; even new construction homes were often being built with minimal attention to energy efficiency.  Chicago offers many challenges as the standard Chicago lots are only twenty-five feet wide; after zoning/code restrictions this leaves twenty feet or less for the building... with eighteen feet or less feet left for livable interior space.  With land prices at a premium who could blame home owners for not wanting to give up their interior space to insulation.

So what does this mean; we have had to get creative while working with Chicago home owners, builders and architects to help maximize the use of space while still maintaining energy efficient construction.  Be it new or existing construction, we have found ways to make Chicago less energy dependent!

In addition to performing energy audits; we're also hoping to expand Chicago's energy efficient workforce.  With over 3 million people in the city limits and over 5 million people in the Chicago-land area and only a handful of certified energy auditors and HERS raters, Priority Energy is proud to offer Chicago and the surrounding suburbs one of the Midwest's only training centers that offers both RESNET and BPI certifications.
